Pesky obstacles: For those rare shots where a wall or post is close, a short cue easily solves the problem. The cue ball rarely rests frozen directly against the cushion requiring a straight perpendicular shot toward the wall—it happens in fewer than 1 in 500 shots. You can easily go 10 or more full games without ever needing a short cue!

Planning your table setup requires measuring the outer table footprint and the cue stroke clearance around the perimeter.
How to Calculate Minimum Room Size
Standard clearance formula: Room Dimension = Inside Playing Surface + (2 × Cue Length). Backswing clearance is always measured from the inside playfield cushions, where balls come to rest on the rails.
